What is moisture? What is hydration?

There is alot of confusion around what actually is needed for the skin of the feet, and body. The skin needs hydration and moisture. Hydration equals water and moisture locks in the hydration & create a skin barrier. So you need both.

Products that hydrate the skin uses humectants such as urea, botanicals and seaweed. As stated in a previous blog skin that is hydrated and moistured is healthy skin. Dry skin is more vulnerable because the skin is looser, which then leads to portals of entries for fungal and warts.

Moisturizers contain oil that lock in hydration, keeps the skin feeling soft and smooth.

One good thing about this is some products contain both hydration and moisture. Products like Footlogix does both, the products contain urea and is hygroscopic so it attracts moisture and locks it in. Footlogix products are able to reach the epidermis and dermis layers of the skin.

When booking with me at Golden Tip Beauty inside of Uzuri Spa, the Health & Wellness Pedicure, the brand Footlogix is used throughout the service. The foot soak, seaweed scrub, cuticle hydrator, moisturizing mousse, and massage lotion. Footlogix products uses Dermal Infusion Technology to heal the feet from the inside out. At the end of the detox pedicure the very dry skin mousse is used as well.

I usually end any nail service with hydrating and moisturizing the skin all around the nail. I use Footlogix’s cuticle conditioner to hydrate the skin and then moisturize with a cuticle oil of your choice. I recommend clients to use products to hydrate and moisture daily to avoid hangnails.
