New Year, New Shoes

Start the year fresh with proper shoes. Looking for shoes unfortunately isn’t all about style. Wearing proper footwear is essential to healthy feet. To avoid many foot, ankle & heel problems shoes have to fit properly and work best for your feet.

When purchasing shoes keep these things in mind:

  • Make sure all toes have enough room in toe box and if the 2nd digit is longer than 1st digit size shoes to 2nd digit. if there is not enough room in the toe box than the toes will rub up against the shoe and cause calluses or sores

  • In most cases one foot is larger than the other foot, so get each foot measured and get the larger size of the two

  • Wear shoes that can adjust when foot may be more swollen at times by lace or strap

  • Avoid wearing the same shoes everyday. If you have a favorite pair buy two pairs and alternate

  • Wear shoes that fit your arch, high arches need high arch shoes. low arch feet don’t need high arches, need moderate arch shoe

  • Always try on shoes and ensure comfortable and no slipping at the heel

  • Supportive shoes should not be able to bend. If your shoes can bend all the way back they are slippers not shoes!

Thank you for reading and please use this as a guide when buying new shoes.
